Autumn Colors Worth the Drive
The Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway is a gorgeous drive through limestone rocks, Ponderosa pine, aspen, and birch trees with various other vegetation and views along the way. (You might even just see a mountain on the rocks or strolling along the road.) The changing of the leaves is a remarkable thing to behold as the Canyon’s trees change from green to yellow, orange, and red. A breathtaking sight that is truly worth seeing in person. The peak of the colors typically occurs toward the end of September into the beginning of October. But no matter what month of the Autumn season, the leaves changing ring in the season and all the holidays and events with it.

Spearfish’s Harvest Fest is held each September with live entertainment, vendors, activities for the kids and more. Turn Right at the Corn Maze

A playground built just for kids, haybales, food trucks, hayrides and more! Take your kids to the pumpkin patch where they can pick their very own pumpkins. Perfect to bring home and make jack-o’-lanterns out of.
The corn maze is a blast for the whole family. The maze is not your ordinary design but is specialty mapped out to resemble a fun Halloween scene. Grab a map and bring along your kids as you try to navigate through the twists and turns in-between the corn. Got older kids who want more of a challenge? When it gets dark, bring them back for ‘Scare Maze’. The corn maze takes a haunted turn during the end of October into the beginning of November.
