Okay, now that we have the food covered. Next, we need a location. Well, Spearfish is not short of options. With 11 picnic shelters at 9 different parks, Spearfish has enough room to fit the whole family, even your great aunt you just met before your family reunion. Are you looking to have a little more lowkey picnic? Every park is still a good option, with most parks located next to Spearfish Creek it’s a great way to keep cool on a hot summers day. And for those of you who will be in Spearfish Canyon, there are plenty of picnic locations there as well. The Black Hills National Forest Service website has a great list of picnicking areas as well as other activities to do within the Spearfish Area.
