The 40th Annual Spearfish Canyon Half Marathon and 5K returns July 11, 2026, offering a scenic race through Spearfish Canyon while supporting the Northern Hills Area CASA Program. Early bird registration is open through June 30, with pricing increasing July 1. Runners and walkers of all ages can enjoy beautiful canyon views, receive a race medal, and compete for awards in their age group while supporting a meaningful cause
HALF MARATHON 7 AM START
• Begins in Savoy and follows the Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway to Spearfish City Park
• All participants receive a medal with awards for top overall male and female and age group winners
• USATF certified course with a 3 hour 20 minute time limit
• Runners must stay on the left side of the road or face disqualification
• Bus transportation available from Spearfish City Park starting at 5 30 AM, recommended due to traffic
• Register by June 23 to receive a complimentary race shirt or tank
5K RUN WALK 7 AM START
• Starts and ends at Spearfish City Park following a scenic route through the campground and bike path
• Open to all ages and abilities, walkers welcome
• Awards for top overall male and female and age group winners
