Zonta Festival of Trees (Nov. 29-Dec. 2: Times Vary): Head to the Tretheway Pavillion for the annual Festival of Trees! The auction will be on Friday night, beginning at 5:30 p.m. and Santa will be arriving the 2nd, from 9 a.m. to Noon! 

Black Hills State University's Madrigal Dinner (Nov. 30-Dec. 2: 5:30 p.m.): The Black Hills State Music Department will be hosting their annual Madrigal Dinner which will feature 18 singers that specialize in Renaissance music. Dressed in Renaissance garb, the singers will portray a sixteenth-century king, queen, and royal court who have invited the audience to a Christmas feast in the castle’s great hall. 

Hatchery Holidays (Nov. 30-Dec. 3: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.): D.C. Booth Hatchery Gift Shop will be open for shoppers to buy presents or souvenirs for anyone on your Christmas list. 

Christmas Shoppers' Village (Dec. 1-20: Times Vary): The Founder's Hall at High Plains Western Heritage Center will have many vendors set up with crafts and holiday gifts for your shopping list. 

Winter Wonderland (Dec. 1-2, 8-9, 15-16, 22-23: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.): The Spearfish Optimist Club will be hosting the Winter Wonderland in the Spearfish Campground. This event is a free-will donation to enter the light display. 

Sip'N'Shop (Dec. 2: 1 p.m. to. 4 p.m.): Enjoy handcrafted beer at Crow Peak Brewing Co. and shop for your holiday gifts from local vendors! 

Community Christmas Tree Lighting (Dec. 2: 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.): Join the festivities of the Community Christmas Tree Lighting at the courtyard of the old City Hall. There will be Christmas carols, hot chocolate, and great company!

Holidazzle Light Parade (Dec. 2: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.): The Holidazzle Parade begins at 6 p.m., starting at Spearfish High School, continuing through North Avenue, and ending at Grant Street. 

The Matthews Christmas Tea (Dec. 2: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.): Connect with family and friends at Matthews Opera House over the holidays' with tea, homemade pasteries, and tea sandwiches! There will also be live entertainment and curated items to help get you gift-giving ready.

Julefest Scandinavian Christmas Festival & Bizarre (Dec. 2: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.): Spend a Scandinavian Christmas in Spearfish at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Enjoy some crafts, coffee, and pastries while you're there!

 Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings (Dec. 8-10: Times Vary): The Plaids come back to Matthews Opera House to spread yuletide joy with the greatest holiday hits of the ages.

Holiday Light Contest (Dec. 9-30: All Day): Spearfish Rec Center begins their Holiday Light Contest with businesses and homes decorated with their best light displays. Winners will be announced after the holidays. 

Holiday Market (Dec. 9: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.): Shop local at the Holiday Market, located at the Spearfish Rec Center. Many vendors will be set up at this event, so get an early start to your Christmas shopping. 

A Potter Family Christmas (Dec. 9: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.): The Bruce Miller Theater at High Plains Western Heritage Center presents A Potter Family Christmas. This is a live Christmas music performance to kick-start the holidays.

Holiday Extravaganza at the Fire Station (Dec. 9: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.): Santa, the Spearfish Fire Auxiliary, and the Spearfish Fire Department welcome you to an afternoon of holiday cheer from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, December 9th, at Fire Station 1 (622 N. Canyon St.). The station will be fully decorated for the holidays, so bring out your entire family for this free community event. We will have holiday crafts and cookies to take home, photo op areas, games, and of course pictures with Santa!

Holiday Cheers & Termespheres (Dec. 9-10: 9 a.m to 5 p.m.)Get ready to dive into a world wonder at the "Holiday Cheers & Termespheres" event! Join the Termesphere Gallery for a festive celebration that will fill your heart with joy and your loved ones with awe-inspiring, one-of-a-kind gifts this holiday season.

Grinch Sip & Paint (Dec. 13 & 20: 6 p.m.)The Clubhouse of Spearfish will be hosting a Grinch Sip and Paint starting at 6 pm! Message Alex Hanson Art & Design on Facebook to reserve a spot. 

Spearfish Canyon Express (Dec. 16-17: 12 p.m. & 2 p.m.): Meet Mrs. Clause and take a scenic trip up Spearfish Canyon up to the North Pole (Spearfish Canyon Lodge) where they will be greeted by Santa's helpers. Guests can enjoy cookies and warm beverages as they await Santa's arrival! 

Holiday Market at Leaones' Creamery(Dec. 16: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.): Leones' Creamery are hosting a Holiday Market, full of local vendors and sweet treats! This event will be in the Courtyard of the Old City Hall. 

False Bottom Ugly Sweater Competition (Dec. 16: starts at 6 p.m. and winners chosen at 10 p.m.) Come down to the False Bottom Bar for the famous Ugly Sweater Competition! (21 and up to participate). 

Swinging Christmas with Sophia Beatty (Dec. 17: 2 pm to 3pm): Sophia Beatty will be performing jazzy holiday music at the Matthews Opera House. Carabet style seating and bottle service of premium wines are available. 

Christmas on the High Plains (Dec. 17: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.): Christmas on the High Plains Concert will be in the Bruce Miller Theater at High Plains Western Heritage Center. Paul Larson and friends will be giving a live musical performance!

False Bottom Color Contest (Dec. 18-21: times TBD): Make your way to False Bottom Bar for a coloring contest from December 18-21 where the winning design will be made into a t-shirt! Winners announced on December 22 at the Miles Between performance.

Visit Santa & Mrs. Claus (Dec. 19: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.): Make your way to Studio 621 to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus! There will be family fun activities, giveaways, food and pictures with Santa. 

Christmas Movie Trivia (Dec. 19: 6 p.m.): Put your knowledge to the test at Spearfish Brewing Co. for their Christmas Movie Trivia! There will be 3-4 Christmas Classic Movies that will be the topic of the event. Team(s) of 1-6 are welcome to join and their will be a prize given to the winner at the end! 

Ugly Sweater Party (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.): Bring out your best ugly sweaters and head to Spearfish Brewing Co. for their annual Ugly Sweater Party! Enjoy spending time with the community, listening to live music from Tyler Bills and enter for a chance to win the best ugly sweater. There will be prizes given for first, second and third place! 

Chinook Days (January 12-20: Times Vary): Celebrate Spearfish's world record of the fastest/greatest temperature change on January 22, 1943. During this event there will be a winter celebrations that consist of a winter festival, mountain sports, craft beer, local food, music and arts.
