Spearfish Falls is slightly off the beaten path, but well worth the walk. It is located in the heart of Spearfish Canyon near the Savoy area.
The trail to the waterfall begins on the north side the Latchstring Inn restaurant and guides you to the bottom of the canyon where it takes you to the roaring waters of Spearfish Falls. Be sure to wear good shoes as the trail can be slippery at times. For those wishing to skip on the hike, there is an overlook deck on the south side of the restaurant.
Spearfish Falls is approximately 12.8 miles south of the north entrance of Spearfish Canyon.

You may think chasing waterfalls is a summer-only activity, but think again! Autumn brings amazing color to Spearfish Canyon and offers picture-perfect scenery. Even in the winter, the waterfalls come to life as the mist from the falls builds upon the surrounding rocks and trees creating an almost fantasy-like setting.
