Spearfish’s oldest Coffeehouse stands on E. Hudson St. and boasts over 20 years of brewing your favorite hot, cold, and blended drinks. Common Grounds also features an all-day breakfast and lunch menu, as well as seasonal sweet treats. They are known for their delicious Italian Sodas and the comfortable, cozy atmosphere it has to offer. Their outdoor patio is perfect for breakfasts in the summer mornings, working on homework or just some inspiration to write. The Coffeehouse is a local’s favorite and you will be sure to run into friendly faces when you walk into Common Grounds. Tucked away in large shade trees on Main St. you can find the Green Bean Coffee Shop. The local coffee shop is known for their variety in coffee, tea and many other drinks. They also offer a wide selection of food options and baked goods that are always served warm! If you are looking for a hipster, casual, trendy ambience this is the place for you. Their outdoor seating is nestled in the large trees that surround it creating a perfect shady spot to have lunch and enjoy the nice weather. EATERIES
Antuñez
The locally owned and operated restaurant is a handcrafted restaurant serving Latin, Hispanic, and Mexican Cuisine. Antunez also offers wine and beer from around the world all in a beautiful and exciting old-world setting. Their outdoor patio sits along E. Illinois St. and you can hear the mix of Spanish and Latin music while you enjoy the fine Spanish/Argentine cuisine.
Dough Trader Pizza
Dough Trader is known for serving stone oven, gourmet, original pizza and pies. You can make or order almost any kind of pizza you could imagine and genuinely enjoy it. The servers and staff are good at helping customers make decisions based on what the customer likes. It is a bit off the beaten path, but nonetheless, very popular among locals and visitors alike. The outdoor seating has a cover and you can see most of Jackson with the beautiful Lookout Mountain in the background. There is also an outdoor chalk area to use, so keep an eye to leave your mark at Dough Trader Pizza.

Killian’s is a unique gathering place that aims to reflect the tastes of the Spearfish community. They have creative vegan and gluten-free options along with handcrafted American food. Killian’s is always adding new things and offering more choices with locally sourced organic ingredients. They have always had outdoor seating but in recent years it has had a facelift. Killian’s outdoor seating is roomy and relaxing. They feature a full bar with sophisticated and smart choices in adult beverages with a 17-selection tap list. Grab a drink and enjoy what the hills have to offer.
Redwater Kitchen
This new age pub is providing the freshest local ingredients, crafting the way for the freshest scratch food and cocktails in the Black Hills with a push on craft beer. Their story is short but with intent when they say they are local owners supporting and sourcing local food. They have many unique food and drink options from the strawberry, avocado, and chickpea sandwich to a simple mac n’ cheese. The architecture is unique and different from other eateries around the city but, it doesn’t stop there. The outdoor seating Redwater has, is equally unique. Sitting on Main St. gives you a modern sense when eating outside, not to mention the beautiful view of Lookout Mountain if you get the right seat.
Leone's Creamery
This creamery is known as the #1 handmade ice cream in South Dakota. They use locally sourced ingredients like Crow Peak Brewing’s malty porter, Cycle Farm’s punchy rhubarb, and swirls of sweet Sunrise Hives honey. They make their ice cream in small batches so their flavors on hand change every week but trust me they are all amazing! Plus, they have vegan options, GMO-free custom flour blend and their cones are gluten free! Tucked away in the heart of Downtown, you will first notice their relaxed and movie esque outdoor seating area. It’s especially beautiful while the sun sets and starts to get dark. If you are one to suffer from a sweet tooth, I highly recommend making a stop at Leone’s Creamery.

Crow Peak Brewery
The oldest brewery in town is a must see for any brew lover out there--Crow Peak Brewing offers the finest craft beer in the Black Hills and the atmosphere is relaxed. The Crow Peak staff invite you to hang out and do a great job of describing the taste profiles of each beer they have. There outdoor patio is shaded and pet friendly. It is relaxed and has a great view of the northern part of the city. It is a signature brewery one must visit when coming to Spearfish.
False Bottom
This full-service bar provides live entertainment, billiards, foosball, darts and a shuffleboard. It is located in historic downtown. Their ambiance is very casual and laid back and this vibe also carries through their outdoor seating. It is directly on the corner of Illinois and Main St. False Bottom provides many tap selections and a great staff. During the nice weather, go in, play some games, then enjoy your drink at their outside seating.
Flanagan's Irish Pub
The one of a kind Irish Pub—Flanagan’s. Here you will find pints, pub grub and sets by local musicians in a homey Irish setting with patio and backyard seating. Reviews say Flanagan’s is one of the most authentic Irish pubs in the state. The patio and backyard seating is enclosed and authentically decorated. The music still reaches the outdoor seating and it is a great place to hang out with friends during the summer.
Sawyer Brewing Co.
This brewery serves wood-fired pizza, locally crafted beer and a creek side view. Located in Yukon Place, Sawyer’s outdoor patio sits along the Spearfish Creek and hold live music there too. It is the perfect view to watch the sunset and hang out with your friends or your dog!
Spearfish Brewing Co.
A craft brewery in downtown Spearfish, dedicated to brewing American style lagers and classic American ales. They also blend their drinks with Kombucha and have their own apparel. Their Ambiance is classic casual in a very minimalistic way. Their outdoor seating area is accompanied by small fires right along Main St. Not only can you have a good drink, but you will have some great food as well. Spearfish Brewing is a must see while visiting downtown.
Spearfish Creek Wine Bar
Off-the-wall wines, beer, food and friends celebrating everything great about Spearfish. They have a wide and great selection of wine, great service, a relaxed fun atmosphere and reasonable prices. Their outdoor patio has a relaxed backyard feeling and they host live music during the summer. Spearfish Creek Wine Bar also has some delicious deserts to enjoy with nice weather and good wine.
