Crow Peak is one of three peaks that form a crown surrounding Spearfish valley, and was originally named “Paha Karitukateyapi” by the Sioux tribe, which means “the hill where the Crows were killed."
The iconic mountain dominates the western horizon of Spearfish forming a backdrop for the city. A trail to the summit climbs 1,600 feet over 3.5 miles and reaches an elevation 5780 feet. While motorized vehicles are not allowed on this trail, hiking, trailrunning, mountain biking and horseback are allowed. Click here, for more information on Crow Peak Trail.
