“Take me out to the ball game, Take me out with the crowd.” Not only is the song being brought but baseball is brought to Spearfish! The Spearfish Sasquatch is the area’s newest baseball franchise that will host talented collegiate baseball players and pitting them against each other.
The Sasquatch enters the season playing under the Expedition League. The Expedition League is an elite, summer collegiate, wood-bat baseball league that provides affordable, wholesome family entertainment, enhances the quality of life in its member communities, while providing the tools and experience needed to optimize the collegiate players' development and potential to play professional baseball.
The Sasquatch started their 64-game season in late May and will play through mid-August. The league hosts a mid-season All-Star Game and an end of season playoff to crown an Expedition League champion.

Yes, this league will be competitive and full of top quality players, but we all know the one question on everyone’s mind when it comes to going to a baseball game. What about the food? Trust me, the food is worth the price of admission. The concession stand is highlighted by two options: the Squatch Dog and the Triple Play Burger. Each of these delectable items are topped with pulled pork, beer cheese and bacon. The best part is, they’re only $6.50. Wash that down with water & soda, or imbibe with a domestic beer for $4 and local craft beer from Crow Peak Brewing, Co. for $5!
Assistant General Manager, Eric Schmidt, is enthusiastic that the Sasquatch will bring entertainment to fans of all ages. “The Spearfish Sasquatch provide the entire Black Hills region with affordable, family friendly entertainment. Each night is filled with fan involvement, contests, great baseball, promotions, & delicious food and drinks. Whether you’re a 2 year old or 95 years young, you’re going to be entertained with top notch baseball and high energy fun!”
The Sasquatch offer a wide variety of seating options, with over 750 seats and 6 different seating options, there are plenty of space to find a seat with your friends and family. If you’re looking to host a group outing, be sure to book the party deck available as well!

“We definitely encourage fans to purchase tickets online so they aren’t waiting in line later at the ballpark,” stated Eric Schmidt. “Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and watch for several promotional nights including Bark at the Park Night, Star Wars Night, Bobble-head Night, Fireworks Nights & More!”
July 4th and August 1st are the next fireworks games!
